La Vang

La Vang at work at Atwater Sub shop w/ Elizabeth, owner
Mentor : Blanca Rodriguez
There were many YOP students that did an excellent job this summer in both the training site and in class. Most of the students were consistently rated as very good or excellent at their job sites in all areas including punctuality, appearance and performance on the job. La Vang was one of these students. La is a sophomore at BCHS. She is a bright young lady with a great attitude. La requested to work at Atwater Sub shop this summer since it is close to home. From the start, both Elizabeth and Charles, owners and supervisors, were impressed with La's strong work ethic, intelligence and pleasant demeanor. She did such a great job, she was hired at the end of the summer and works part time after school. Just the other day I stopped by the shop for lunch, immediately both Charles and Elizabeth expressed how much they enjoy having La working with them. Today I went to BCHS to see La and check on her progress in school. She is doing very well; earning all "A" and "B" grades this semester. She is able to balance both work and school well. She also participated in our recent tour of the universities, UC Merced and CSU Stanislaus.
