He was born in Michoacan, Mexico and arrived in Merced in 1979 when he was only 7 years old. He attended the local schools and graduated from Merced High School in 1990. While he attended Merced High, he was enrolled in Mr. Schroeder’s and Mr. Weaver’s automotive class. He was placed at Rich’s Auto Body and was then hired at the end of the program. Cheryl is a mentor for the YOP Youth Opportunity Program. She has been with YOP
for 9 years. Cheryl has helped the majority of her YOP participants graduate with
